Have you ever dreamt of driving deep into the desert, over the golden sand dunes to adventure with your love?? Well my sweet couple, Rose + Chris, did just that! We had the most amazing time running barefoot in the sand and laughing until our bellies ached. I am obsessed with how boho and moody their photos turned out, and even more obsessed with how authentically head over heels they were for each other! The lighting was wonderfully golden + dreamy that evening, and they didn’t even blink an eye when I asked them to roll around in the sand with some of those shots ending up being faves! As the sun went down, we played with lanterns to document the magic and adventure of this magnificent location. It was a perfectly carefree day with a couple full of life – 10/10 would highly recommend you do it too! Is this speaking to your heart? Do you want to do this for you + your love?
You can recreate this cool, desert elopement vibe with a couple key ingredients:
- The right location: Think Arizona, Colorado, Nevada! Google is your best friend when beginning your search, but also make sure to check to see if permits are required for any locations you are considering, when to apply, and any costs or fees for the permits (typically $50-200 for National Parks). For couples who book with me, I help with ALL of this so you don’t have to do it alone and I can help weigh pros and cons for you to make your decision.
- The right elopement dress: Rose wore a dress from Katharina Hakaj Couture, but other elopement outfit ideas could be a beautiful, airy dress, something white + casual, or whatever makes you feel like you! Other amazing designers to consider: Daci Gowns, Lulus, Wtoo by Watters, BHLDN, and many more! Just make sure you can move in it, feel like a million bucks, and aren’t afraid to let it drag on the earth – it will collect pieces of your day and most of the time getting it cleaned takes care of everything else!
- The right photographer: This one is so important! Find a photographer who really “gets” you and your partner and what you are wanting for your day! I like getting to know my couples so that they feel comfortable getting up close and personal and then I can better capture their personality, story, and love for each other!
So what are you waiting for? Let’s run away to the desert and create some magical images to keep forever!
